Prayers to the Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity

God the Father

God the Son

God the Holy Ghost

This prayer below is part of A Secret of Sanctity by Cardinal Mercier in which he said plainly: "I am going to reveal to you a secret of sanctity and happiness. If every day during five minutes, you will keep your imagination quiet, shut your eyes to all things of sense, and close your ears to all the sounds of earth, so as to be able to withdraw into the sanctuary of your baptized soul, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit, speaking there to that Holy Ghost saying: "O Holy Ghost, Soul of my soul …" If you do this, your life will pass happily and serenely. Consolation will abound even in the midst of troubles. Grace will be given in proportion to the trial as well as strength to bear it, bringing you to the gates of Paradise full of merit. The submission to the Holy Spirit is the Secret of Sanctity."

O' Holy Ghost, Soul of my soul, I adore You. Enlighten, guide, strengthen and console me. Tell me what I ought to do and command me to do it. I promise to be submissive to everything that You permit to happen to me. Show me only what is Your Will. Amen

- Cardinal Mercier

Breathe in me O Holy Spirit that my thoughts may all be holy;

Act in me O Holy Spirit that my works, too, may be holy;

Draw my heart O Holy Spirit that I love but what is holy;

Strengthen me O Holy Spirit to defend that is holy;

Guard me then O Holy Spirit that I always may be holy.

- Saint Augustine

Holy Ghost, divine Spirit of light and love. I consecrate to You my understanding, my heart and my will, my whole being for time and for eternity. May my understanding be always submissive to Your heavenly inspirations and to the teachings of the Holy Catholic Church, of which You are the infallible Guide.

May my heart be ever inflamed with love of God and of my neighbor; may my will be ever conformed to the divine Will, and may my whole life be a faithful imitation of the life and virtues of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom with the Father and You, Holy Ghost, be honor and glory forever. Amen.

- Saint Pius X

Come, Holy Spirit, replace the tension within us [or me] with a holy relaxation.

Replace the turbulence within us with a sacred calm.

Replace the anxiety with us with a quiet confidence.

Replace the fear within us with a strong faith.

Replace the bitterness within us with the sweetness of grace.

Replace the darkness within us with a gentle light.

Replace the coldness with us with a loving warmth.

Replace the night within us with your light. Straighten our crookedness.

Fill our emptiness. Dull the edge of our pride.

Sharpen the edge of our humility. Light the fires of our love.

Quench the flames of our lust. Let us see ourselves as You see us.

That we may see You as You have promised, and be fortunate according to Your word: "Blessed are the pure of heart,

 for they shall see God." (Mt 5:8)

Prayers for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Lord Jesus Christ - Who before ascending into Heaven - did promise to send the Holy Spirit - to finish Your work - in the souls of Your Apostles and Disciples - deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me - that He may perfect in my soul - the work of Your grace and Your love.

Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom - that I may not be attached to the perishable things of this world - but aspire only after the things - that are eternal - the Spirit of Understanding - to enlighten my mind - with the light of Your divine truth - the Spirit of Counsel - that I may ever choose - the surest way of pleasing God - and gaining Heaven - the Spirit of Fortitude - that I may bear my cross with You - and that I may overcome with courage - all the obstacles that oppose my salvation - the Spirit of Knowledge - that I may know God and know myself - and grow perfect in the science of the Saints - the Spirit of Piety - that I may find the service of God sweet and amiable - the Spirit of Fear - that I may be filled with loving reverence towards God and may avoid anything that may displease Him. Mark me dear Lord - with the sign of your true disciples - and animate me in all things with Your Spirit. Amen.
